Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers.
Brown butter is a little more interesting than your average butter. Here’s our most frequently asked questions you need to know about Buji—from what makes it different to how to use it.
Where did the name Buji come from?
We're taking a household staple and making it fancy. Making it "bougie". So we updated the spelling and the brand came to be known as, Buji Brown Butter.
What makes BUJI different from regular butter?
Buji brings more to the table. Every stick is already browned to perfection, so you get that deep, nutty brown butter flavor without having to brown it yourself.
What do I do with it?
Spread it. Melt it. Bake with it. Finish a steak with it. Toss it with vegetables. Put it on toast and call it a day. Buji works anywhere butter does—and brings a deeper, nuttier flavor along with it.
What are the ingredients in BUJI Brown Butter?
Just cream and salt. That’s it. No shortcuts, no unnecessary ingredients—just butter, browned with precision and made to bring serious flavor to whatever you’re making.
Where is your brown butter manufactured?
We make our butter at a commercial kitchen in Portland, Oregon.
How should I store my BUJI Brown Butter?
We recommend storing it in the fridge. Let it get to room temperature before use (about an hour) then return it to the fridge. You can keep it covered on your counter, but the flavor and consistency may become compromised after a week.
Can I freeze it?
Yes! It can be frozen for up to four months. The texture and flavor may change slightly, but not noticeably. We suggest storing butter in its original packaging and in a sealed freezer bag. Defrost it slowly in the fridge before use. We do not recommend melting frozen butter in the microwave without first thawing.
